Hello all,

As you can probably tell from my profile, I'm a Canon shooter, but thinking of jumping to the Sony a6500 for better video and built-in sensor stabilization. I came across this camera bundle on Amazon from a seller in NJ called "Beach Camera" and it seems too good to be true:

Obviously I would expect a lot of the accessories to be junky, but I am primarily interested in the battery grip and extra batteries (can't tell if they're real Sony batteries or knock-off brands). I wouldn't mind if the shotgun mic and other accessories aren't that great, as this still seems like a great deal considering the kit lens, bag, and batteries are included.

Have any of you ever bought Beach Camera bundles or similar bundles from Amazon? I've checked their reviews for other camera bundles and the feedback is surprisingly positive, but I still can't help but feel that this seems a bit sketchy or too good to be true. Would appreciate your advice! thank you

if you want a u.s. warranty, make sure that you getting the camera from an authorized reseller, there is an official page on sony.com that lists 'em all, i think that beach camera is one?? i got a tamron 150-600 from beach camera a couple of years ago, it was a good transaction.

you can probably get the same a6500 package from beach camera on their ebay store, with the possible option of not having to pay tax on the purchase, depending on how you feel about that sort of thing.

adorama also sells bundles, so take a look at them as well.

the batteries will almost certainly be knock-off batteries, but they can be fine, depending on the brand... they are usually about $12 each, without the charger.

Thank you Dan,

It's good to know that you've had a positive experience with Beach Camera. Yes, they seem to be an authorized reseller and currently Amazon is not charging me sales tax to order from them. This bundle seems to offer more value than the bundles B&H offers, I've yet to check Adorama much though. Thanks again

I bought a refurbished d3300 through Amazon from them and I had no problems

I've bought several things from Beach Camera. I've never had an issue.

I am in the same boat, except I preordered a new D850 from them. I figured since they are a us retailer and it's new that there can't be that much risk. Fingers crossed.
