XT10 and lens not communicating?

Apologies if this is a really stupid question. I recently bought a 'faulty' XT10 on eBay. I thought it was worth a punt and have got my money back from selling the included kit lens. The bumph said that the camera was powering on but then turning off after a few seconds.

All this was true, so I put a different battery in and now the camera maintains power but I can not see any live image in either the LCD or the viewfinder. There is the standard display (pictured) but seems to be no connection between the lens and the LCD/ viewfinder. I know this could be something really simple or something quite costly to fix, but as I said it was worth a go and I am not out of pocket. Anyone any ideas/suggestions?

Many thanks

I should have said - I can view images from a memory card and access all the functions and settings, just can't see what the lens should be seeing!

Sounds like the sensor isn't working.

Thanks Doug, I was wondering if that must be the issue. Best check the cost for a repair! Or just sell it on for spares/repairs... thanks again

Did you try to take a picture with it?

I dont mean focussing etc because obviously you can't see anything, but you dont need a screen to press the shutter button :-)

Yup and no luck. On the bright side, I have spoken to Fujifilm Repair UK and am going to send it in to them. I might end up with a fully serviced and repaired camera at a silly low price...
