hi,

when I connect my Nikon D7000 to my mac in standard way (USB) the mac doesn't read it.. I think I need a driver... does anyone know where I can find a driver, please.....

someone in a mac forum pointed me to here,

but the download here is a mess, it's a .dmg file, but when I unpack it, it turns into a file with a weird extension (D7000_0102.bin.cpgz) that I can't unpack, even in unix... where else can I find this driver please...

I would appreciate any suggestions/pointers...

thank you very much.....

PS2: the reason I need to connect the camera to the computer (which I don't usu. do) is that the photo card is very old doesn't work anymore... if I put the card into the computer card slot (which I usu. do) the computer doesn't read it.... I can only see the photos if I put the card in the camera, so I wanted to transfer the photos directly from the camera to the computer......

thank you.....

well well, this has been SOLVED...

it turns out there's an app called Image Capture.app already installed in my mac.. I had no idea... this did it.... it read the camera and I was able to transfer all the photos....

I hope this thread helps someone else with this problem....

I didn't receive any responses, but.... thank you anyway....:~)))

I'm glad you solved your card problem. I may be stating the obvious - apologies if I am - but I'd toss that card once you have transferred the photos. I tend to stick w/ cards from the big name mfg's and if they ever show the slightest sign of misbehaving, they get tossed. It's the one point in the imaging chain that has no backup (unless you're using a camera w/ dual card slots).

That is the best advice provided.
