just get back from four days helgoland.
helgoland is a small island between germany and denmark , there is one of the biggest population of northern gannets from europe.

for me a great opportunity to try the new A9 , how good is the AF
most of the time we had heavy fog , the camera had no problems with it , and follows the bird easily.
as you can see most of the time , the light was not great , but the camera had no problems with it
I have so many keepers
i use the new 70-200 2.8 GM , and handheld

thanks for looking

Other than listening to my bird watching nephew talk, I'm not really a bird guy... But I really like these, especially the 3rd and the sunset shot. Would be cool to see more of your results and hear some of your analysis of what it's like to use the A9.

Excellent Images. Focus spot on. Detail terrific. Colors great.

What a beautiful bird, and a real treat to see different poses. Were you able to photograph any actually diving? I've read they can reach speeds up to 40 mph as they dive!

Did you use an extender on the last two?

Very nice work!

Good series.

Thanks for posting,

Some really excellent photographs. But I would appreciate a few full-resolution samples. These are not enough to assess critical sharpness.

Thanks!

Not into birds really, but I have to say that's a great set of images. . .

Amazing images!

Would you be kind enough to share your AF settings used?
