.................. the Nikon D cameras write at approximately 10x in the parlance of the 24x plus CF card ratings.
The Transcend is as slow as the Sandisk according to some figures and is in the same economic bracket as the cheap and slow Sandisk.
Transcend’s own rating comparisons show N/A against the Lexar 24x pro series and the Sandisk Ultra is not listed.
I’ve ordered one as well but prompted by failure reports and price differences which show the 30x card cheaper than the 35x card I emailed Transcend, apparently the only way to know what card one has, Transcend, Transcend 25x or Transcend 30x is the markings that come with the packaging
not reliable enough IMO.
I asked if it was specifically appropriate for the Nikon series and “no know problems!” tech support failed to recognise the unique nature of the Nikon controller.
In any event the only extra speed one will see from the 30x card, as long as it is really faster than 10x (really and truly) is in transfer speed to a PC, now that can make a big difference actually as well so it is very important, but it will make little or no difference to the write speeds of the D100 in particular for this card.
I am trying to extract as much sports photo potential out of the
machine as possible. With the limited buffer, anything less than
the Ridata is too slow. I am buying the Transcend 30x.
