I agree UZ'pshooters something is missing but I am not sure it is just a picture - I watched what happened recently and why it happened. I then saw Phil come to the forum and tell people they should to act mature, then call someone an idiot in another post to demonstrate how one does this I guess. ???? The man he called an idiot is prpbably on the other end of the spectrum and a true artist who has been of great assistance to me. Go figure! If Phil would have taken the time to find out what was really causing the mess, he might have handled it different.

IMHO (and I am entitled to my opinion) he was right to react, but wrong in the way he handled the situation. Just because one has power does not always mean one is right. We lost some good contributors to this forum and they are missed.

3D even gives (or gave) him free advertising with links to DPReview on his web page - a very nice web page too, all photography stuff. This fellow might be off the wall sometimes but is also a great asset to the forum. His bird pictures were blowing me away and I was watching evey tip on how he took them.

Phil has the power to do what he did but Power alone doesn't deserve respect, respect is earned. I think he shot himself in the foot this time as I now spend less time here and more time elsewhere as do some others. The whole situation has been poorly handled by many including myself I suppose.

I've been around this forum for quite some time. I refuse to call it an UZI, the price had just started to drop, the price on my B-300 hadn't started to rise. Both were readily available. We pushed the camera to it's limits and learned what it could do. We also posted pictures.

I rarely post here anymore, because of the type of responses received.

Back in those days, we ignored problem makers and they went away. The biggest problem was those who didn't own a 2100, but knocked it because of the specs. Maybe that is OB's problem, although I did stumble across some pics that he claimed. Technically they were fine, but composition was terrible.

One thing I've noticed, not many pictures get posted. The place has turned into a chat room, where most of the energy is spent bashing each other, whether seriously or in fun.

I suggest taking more pictures.

This forum was never meant to be one where pictures are posted. There is another forum for that. However, too many of the posts have nothing to do with Olympus cameras or even photography in general.

Personally, IMHO, regardless of there being another forum for posting pics. I don't see the point in having the ability to post pics in all the forums, if it's supposed to be confined to just one or two.... I can even put up with most OT discussions also, since there's plenty of grey area regarding what exctly is OT & for the most part thay can be passed over just the same as a flame thread, but I do have a pet peeve about rampant non-Oly pic posts, except if they're in a direct Oly comparison type of post.... & believe me it's not due to any Oly-Only brand loyalty on my part... I'm not happy with Oly at all... But over & above all the rules, it is afterall "Olympus Talk Forum" (which is more often than not the 1st thing one sees even before the rules & leaves no doubt what's in store upon entering) It's not "Any Cam Talk Forum". I'm definately in the minority it seems about this though & it has absolutely nothing to do with jealousy either. I can't help it if it just so happens that good photographers have been the guilty ones....LOL... There is a good chance this will be my last say in the matter though...

You are right, and Phill used to mention it, but he tolerated it. We often used the "what is wrong" excuse to get around that, but at least it kept the indians at bay.

Sometimes a good whipping is the best solution. Phil could ignore everything, then these brush fires will burn out.

Thank you for the post. I absolutely agree. I have been tempted several times to respond to some of the inflamatory stuff. Let's just act like civil humans and stick the topic -- photography. I know I can skip the rude stuff but I would prefer it not be there to have to skip. If everyone just skips it, it may go away.

Ergo is a very intelligent man. He knew he was going to be banned by going what he did and that's exactly what he wanted. To act as a martyr?

Phil did exactly what Ergo was expecting. Now Ergo...what's the rest of the story? What's plan B?

Not wrong at all. At least not in regard to this post.... ;-)

The only thing you forgot was Tim basically martyred himself also. The only difference between the two was Tim was still highly active, Ergo had lessened his participation to not much more than a weekly prayer an an occaisional post. Much more occaisional compared to his past history of a few months back. So "IMHO" he was half way out the door on his own, long before Tim did what he felt he had to.

Although, Tim took a gamble, probably hoping Phil would review OlyBoys antics. Unfortunately he lost the gamble till after the fact, or so it would seem since OB hasn't been heard from in a day or two....Ya never know though, Maybe the boy is just pulling his punches for a day or two till the storm clears... LOL... & to put it in perspective... It's not like they doused themselves with gas & struck a match.... They clearly knew what might happen as a result of thier actions. Unfortunately Phil called thier bluff....

All it took was an c2100/r72 setup and a drive into Niagara county... Oh yeah & standing on the roof of your car.... LOL

With a few people still around here, this will not really happen. That's why I haven't bothered with this forum in months. I come back here to see if things have gotten better, and then I see "Phil Suckathon", and other people still around that clutter up this forum with nonsense.

At least Phil has started with 3DTim who felt he had the right to make some people look like garbage, and then act all innocent with a smirk on his face. Until a few other get cleared out of here, I'm not going to bother with this forum. I'll come back in a few months and see if the purging has been done. I don't mean Ergo. But a few others need to go.

I'll pop in maybe in spring and see if things are turning around. I hope things do get on track Juli. : ) People like yourself deserve a strong forum again.
