Ricoh GR ii - already have Sony rx100

I'm thinking about getting the Ricoh GR ii and have been reading a lot about it. I already have a Sony r100, the original one.

I think very highly of the output from the rx100, both in jpg and raw. I truly think of it as a technological marvel, and these days use it more than my Sony DSLR and Canon 6D. The downside? The handling is clumsy.

The APS-C sensor in a small camera of the gr ii caught my eye. So did the reviews of the very sharp output and the great handling. Is the handling really that good?

Why bother? I find a new camera stimulates my creativity, and maybe I'll get into street photography. Any comments? Thanks.

I have a GR and a RX100mk2 and to me there's no doubt, the GR handles a lot better and the images are superior.

Of course if you need a zoom the RX100 is better, but I compared the crop modes of the GR with the RX100 and I consider the 35mm crop better than the RX100 at 35mm and the 50mm crop about as good as the RX100 at 50mm. More than 50mm the RX100 wins.

Took out the rx100 and tried to shoot it only at wide angle to get a sense of how it would be, and I think I do need the zoom.

If you can live with 28mme (or cropped 35mme) then the GR is the shooter for street. I had the original SONY , which I liked until it was stolen, but for street much prefer the GR.

Yep, I have the Ricoh GR, the RX100 II and a Panasonic GM5 I got because I was curious as to how it measured up to the others
