Thanks to all the regular posters and commenters who keep this going, to the new posters who give us all new thing to see, and to the lurkers -- we know you're out there.

This weekly topic serves as a place for forum members to share recent work with our Sony Alpha Full Frame cameras. It’s not a sin to post something made with another camera, but the idea is to allow owners with similar cameras to compare notes, chops, and sensibilities. However, it's OK for a7x camera owners to dazzle us with any images made with other cameras.

Using Threaded View helps to keep each person's contribution and responses linked in a tree-like structure so replies/discussions are easier to follow.

To begin:

1. Add your contribution for the week by responding to this, the first message in this topic.

2. Change the Subject of your message, then embed your image into the reply with whatever you’d like to say about it. (Embedding makes it easier to participate, easier than a link to an image located outside the forum - but links aren’t any great offense [g]).

If you want C&C (criticism/critique) or technique feedback, say so. It’s generally assumed one does want general feedback, but direct requests may garner a more studied analysis/response.

If you feel you've been ignored, select your post, reply to it with a brief note to the effect of "Can I get some feedback?". Not getting feedback on a post isn't uncommon, so don't feel offended - no one is charged to insure all posts get attention (we're not organized enough for that). If you want particular feedback (composition, exposure choice, etc.), saying so can be helpful for the potential respondents as to what your needs may be.

It is courteous and advisable that, should you post images for feedback, you also make comment on at least one other’s contribution. Respectful acknowledgement of everyone is the goal, and it’s requested that all participants assume some responsibility to that end.

And, most importantly.....HAVE FUN!

I've kind of gotten down to an every-other-week pace here, because making these things is so time-consuming. Fortunately for me, the time that is consumed is mainly the computer's but it stll takes a lot of mine, too. These are the results of a single day's shooting -- about 8000 images. They were munched by the computer into about 1700 renderings, and today I picked the first group to work on in Ps. I will probably produce 30 or 40 finished images out of this set, which had the wind shear that I look for, but, sadly, find only infrequently.

All with an a7RII and a Leica 90mm f/2 Apo-Summicron-M ASPH.

Computer has been down, so I might post a couple of pictures from recent hikes.

The weather in Oregon has not been cooperating to get nice clear photo's so here is what I am left with.

Jim,

Really excellent work. Definitely growing on me the more I see them. These are great, especially.

Both are lovely winter scenes. It's been awhile since I've seen snow here in Monterey, so it's always fun to get a reminder : )

I was out for my daily walk, when the light on this wall stopped my dead in my tracks.

I may have posted a version of this before, but I've put a lot of work into since then because I knew it had potential.

What do you think?

Cheers

That is stunning. I know how difficult that is to shoot. Harsh bright artificial lights everywhere. Have you blended exposures?

Thanks. No blended exposures but a lot of radial and brush work.

Cheers

Excellent series.

Abrak,

Superb. So well balanced and carefully edited... The image you showed us some time back using the same background with the lean fighter (looked like a fighter) what the inspiration behind spending the last 3 months or so improving my photoshop skills... So thanks!

I have spent quite a lot of time looking through your images - suggest others do too!

Due to a wind storm causing power outages that lasted 6 days :-x, we spent some time at Mom's Museum&Motel. Here are some pics as a result.

My mom made that wedding dress. That is my sister in the portrait.

Perhaps the price tag on the hat is an homage to Minnie Pearl.

All for now, I have taken enough bits on DPR's drives! Definitely an amateur attempt at interior photography, as I was lazy and only got out the tripod on the last shot, but I got to try a gradient filter in LR on the middle two. C&C welcome.

Wow! First time in this forum for me. A7ii picked up yesterday, and as is the apparent rule with camera buys, the weather has degraded. Still visited some of my local heritage.
