Good value for money

Pros:
- Sharp;
- Decent build quality;
- Front element doesn't rotate;
- Fast AF;
- Accepts front filters;
- Good value for money;
- Hood included;
- Smooth focus and zoom rings;

Cons:
- Pretty bad ghosting when shooting against strong back light;
- Small and not constant larger aperture;
- No image stabilization;

agreed, i had it on my D7000 and it was very nice! I now have the f3.5 version,

which is also superb

Is the f3.5 version sharper at f8/f13?

And what about the tendency to flares. Is it smaller?

I don't think the f3.5 is sharper... just faster. And a very little bit larger
