I bought it in the last month, its going to be my dedicated portrait lens. I've taken mostly boring test shots with this lens and have yet to utilize it for an event yet. What I like about it the most is the fast autofocus. I find the AF motor is faster than my 70-300mm. Its also very sharp across the frame. If your interested in some test chart shots, or non creative object shots, I can post some tonight.

Here is a few quick snaps. Please excuse the high iso, indoor lighting can be difficult to work with @ focal lengths of 200mm, even wide open.

F4 zoom can brilliantly handle anything, sport, portrait, macro, you name it. I found an 800$ open box one (full price is exaggerated when you can easily go Canon for 500$). I ditched my Nikon 2.8 zoom in favor of Sony f4 and have the same or better sharpness and AF tracking for my kid hockey and soccer. For low light (hockey) and subject isolation you need f4, anything else can be handled with 200$ zoom. I kept my 55-210 for light travel, no big deal if it is lost or stolen (it is less intimidating and non-intrusive if you are in a public place and do not wear PRESS/PHOTO orange jacket)

Great shots. I love the one with the kid in the treeline climb.

It is a very good lens for wildlife photography (although a little short in focal length). Here are a couple of recent examples from our local nature park. The lens is reasonably fast to focus and sharp.

I am thinking about using it with the Sony A6500, maybe sell the 55-210 (most likely)
If your main purpose is wildlife don't dismiss the 70-300G, there's lots of discussion and comparisons of these lenses in this forum.

It's a lovely lens - wonderfully sharp throughout the range, great wide open, nice bokeh, fast focus. Never had a complaint about it - I used mine primarily for wildlife, including lots of BIF work, but also the occasional street shot, portrait, stage shooting, and even landscape or scenic. I eventually sold it when the FE70-300mm came out as that lens I found to be equally sharp but had the much-needed extra reach for wildlife that is a very big part of my photography.

Here's my full gallery of shots with the FE70-200mm F4 - lots of bird and wildlife near the top, but scroll down and there are other types of shots too:

It's a sculpture my wife had decorating our home. I never asked her about it, but was quick enough for me to take a picture with the 70200g. I'll ask her about it tonight.

I own the SEL18-200 which I think is comparable in IQ with the 55-210. I purchased the FE 70-200 F/4 last year and us it on my "old" NEX-6. It's the best lens I have, and it shows so much more crispy details in my pictures (even on my 16MP NEX6).. I absolutely love it and have no regret at all spending Euro 1500,= on this lens. I can highly recommend it as upgrade for the 55-210 if you can affort it.

I've included some random shots, to show what it can do on the good old NEX6. On your A6500 it should perform even better...
