Hey guys. Finally the new yongnuo 85mm has got its first review on youtube.

LINK:

It costs less than US$200,00 and the Canon version is already available on ebay. We might expect a Nikon version in the near future? (The 50mm and 35mm yongnuo lens were first released for Canon and only after for Nikon). What are your thoughts on this lens?

I hope to see more info on this, Inpicked up a YG 50/1.8 Nikon mount and am really dissappointed. The AF is sluggish and IQ very soft even stopped down to f/4.

I have one more week to return it and am strongly thinking about it.

I thought it was good, up until that hideous AF motor...that thing is loud and sounds terrible!

It's slow as molasses as well. You may as well pay $50 more and pick up a used copy of the Canon lens.

Yeah, it's pretty slow too. Picking up a used Canon would make a lot more sense.

Nikon's 85mm F1.8G is pretty darned slow when it comes to autofocus. Considering the Yongnuo 85mm has metal filter threads, build quality might be higher than the plastic filter thread Nikon.

Nikon makes great optics but they really need to improve build quality. Even the $2,200 105mm F/1.4 has a corny micro AF motor and a "plastic fantastic" build quality.
