i recently tried trial version of lightroom cc. however i cant seem to open raw files from the above mentioned.

some of the shops are selling older version of lightroom. not sure if they are compatible.

i know that there is a program to convert it to a file that is compatible with LR. i find it a hassle.

is there any older version of LR that is compatible with m5 raw?

No older version would work. You can always use DPP which is included with the camera.

As mentioned above, Adobe no longer provides RAW converter updates for older versions of Lightroom. I will have the same issue with Photoshop 6 if/when I get a new camera.

You can work around this by converting your RAW images to DNG with the latest version of Adobe's free DNG Converter. The DNG versions will open just fine in the older versions of Lightroom and Photoshop.

Ditto. I signed up for PS and LR CC (somewhat reluctantly) in order to process the files. DPP will open them and Camera RAW version 9.3 will open them, but Camera RAW 9.3 is no compatible with older versions of LR and PS. You could convert to DNG as the other poster suggested, but it is a pain. I hear you can buy one year pre-paid subscriptions to PS CC from B&H which saves you some money. Good luck!

Please note that you're all mistaken. LR 6.8 works just fine with M5 raw files.

It's also the last version that could be bought, and still can be bought, without subscribing to LR CC.

Thats correct - but boy they make it hard to find on the adobe website. Note also that it is generally updated at about the same frequency as cc

Good to know. Too late for me, but may aid another. Thanks!
