Here's a shot taken with Pro Capture at 60 fps. The hammer has not hit the pig yet, and yet the pig is already cracking. Suspect this is caused by the rolling shutter capturing the hammer just before it it hits, the piggy after impact!

Ha, interesting 😁!

..that you still had a full piggy bank after the purchase of an E-M1 Mk.2 ! :-D

Great shots btw, also as an illustration of Pro Capture mode.

I had a Mk II piggy bank, but getting a photo of its destruction with the Mk I wasn't possible; so I went out and bought four more piggy banks purely so I could destroy them at 60fps! Very satisfying, although I could only afford to put small value coins in them!

May be you have a Mk II that travels forward in time? A Mk II time machine?

Or did the piggy cracked from fright at the sight of the impending death? :-D

I hope you forgive me from this light -minded attempt at humour!

BTW, there is in MFT rumours today a comparison between the rolling shutter effect in this camera and the Canon 60D

And in case you were wondering what happened next....

this is a great shot though :)

However, as you're controlling both the hammer and the shot - the Pro Capture feature may be less needed here.

This is probably the most interesting side effect of rolling shutter I've seen. :-D

Cartier-Bresson coined the term ‘decisive moment’ especially for this photo. :)

Did you have to destroy all four or did the first one come out as you hoped for?

Anyway, these photos look like they would do very well as stock images, so I hope you can make the investment pay back for itself! With the Pro Capture mode you really have an advantage here on other photographers.
