Smart Media or Compact Flash?

Hi!

I have finally decided to buy a Fuji FinePix S602 Zoom as my first camera. As I understand you can use both smart media and compact flash. As a new beginner I have no idea on what to use.
What would you recomend me to purchase of the following options:

Option 1: 567 USD

The 128 SM kit is better, the 256 MB CompactFlash seems too expensive and the quality (I mean the speed) is not garanteed. another 128 Smartcard costs you no more than USD60 and with higher performance than CompactFlash...

All smartmedia cards are about the same quality only 2 manufacturers I believe. Same standards unlike the many for CF

I wil not get into the multiple speeds and compatibility of the CF cards

this one is the best, but I think that before buy another Smart Media,( in one month?), you should try your camera with both Media inside: when one is full, switch to the other. very useful.
I have a SM128 and a San Disk Compact flash Ultra 256Mb.

I just spent ten minutes giving my take on some deals.... But, lost it all.... Here's the abriged version...

s602z from buydig.com - $507.00
UV filter, Circular polarizer, adapter tube, cleaning kit from 2filter.com - $57
128MB Smart Media card from "shopping around" - $45-$50 (at most)
Lowepro bag from http://www.stores.ebay.com/id=62258290 $30-$45

What you get....

a great camera, protection for your lens (adapter tube and UV filter), sharper photos outside (polarizer), plenty of storage to begin with, and a good bag.

What you spent....

About $40 more than scenario #2 above.

BTW, I have both a SmartMedia and a CompactFlash card in my camera to give me the maximum shots without changing out media. The camera automatically shifts from one to the other.
