I've been reading the forum for a couple days. I'm ready to buy my first digital camera. I've been emailing a friend in Texas (I'm in Ohio) about the fuji 3800 she got as a gift for Christmas. We both want to shoot the same thing...we both have herding dogs and want photos and action photos of our dogs working stock (sheep, cattle & ducks/whatever). I'm going to get the 3800 because it's in my price range $350-$500 (need some money for chargers ect.) also the person who designed her web page likes the photos and she says the files are not that large. I like the reg. batteries, the optical telephoto lense, 3mp, video recording, ect.
Does anyone have any tricks or suggestion on those quick outdoor action shots? We thought maybe we could pull frames from the video but, now we don't think that's the case is there a way to do this or is there some sort of software out there or some short of trick way to do this.
We're both new to digital cameras as well as very little computer knowledge but, I'm thinking you already figured this out. I do also realize there is no perfect camera out there you just have to work with what you can afford and chose. Thanks in advance for all the help. Karen
