This camera has many tools from a reflex, many filters, auto modes and manual modes. I bought it on a special price just to try it before buying a full reflex but I dont think now it's worth a penny ! I got on auroras hunting with the fuji HS50 and got wonderful pictures in complete night with great green and purples details in. But the iso is limited in time of opening ( 4s max for 800 iso, 15s max for 400 iso...) so I had to get iso 100 for max exposure but less colors. Photoshop did the rest...
Even autumn colors in Canada get me wonderful photographies with my Fuji. Maybe, the resolution is a bit limited by the 16 MB px with wide landscapes but portraits are very fine and detailed.
