If you preorder the G80 you'll get the DMW-BGG1 battery grip for free.
Infos here: Panasonic Promotions

Is there any chance that EU or USA buyer will benefit from this?

I'll be on vacation in California on October and plan to buy the G85 there (no recording restriction). Any cons about the US version as EU (Austrian) citizen? Besides the battery charger...

cheers

According to the terms, EU buyers will benefit:

"2. The Promotion is applicable to residents of the EEA, EU, Switzerland, Channel Islands and Isle of Man who are aged 18 years or over."

[ applicable to residents of the EEA, EU, ... ] Then why have this promotion only in the UK??

That's true but I have to buy it in the UK.

But considering the way the British pound's value dropped and the fact that the UK is still part of the EU that might be a blessing in disguise. I don't know about camera prices in Austria but compared to Dutch prices the cameras are often cheaper in the UK now. And there still is free trafficing of goods so no import charges.

Now all you have to do is to find an online UK camerastore that will ship to Austria, participates in this action and is cheaper than an Austrian store ... ;-)

Yes.

The pound is joining the euro through Brexit...

The free battery grip is definitely only available on purchases from participating dealers in the UK. And you must be a EU or EFTA resident. AT £250 RRP it is not to be sneezed at either.

I applied for mine yesterday!

Because it is a Panasonic UK promotion. But because we are members of the EU - complete with the free movement of goods, people and money - EU residents cannot be excluded.

If it was a Panasonic USA promotion the reverse would apply.

But only if they buy it from a participating UK dealer.

This is why I voted Remain.
