Hi, I promised a colleague of mine that I would be the event photographer for his premiere in about 12 hours's time. It is a premiere of indie web series. It would be a small event and I think I will be the only photographer. I have shot art benefits and h.s. drama productions before with relative success. The issue is that I don't really know what I should expect or how should I photograph at a premiere or at an event like that. What are the types of photos expected and most importantly, how do photographers work at a movie premiere (such as how do you approach people for photos)?
I have a slow but relatively reliable Altura flash (link: http://alturaphoto.com/universal-digital-flash-canon-nikon-pentax-sony-dslr-camera-altura-photo.html) on hand to use because the theater is dark and small. I plan on bringing my Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 and a Nikon 50mm f/1.8 on a d5200 body. Finally, how long do people expect for photographers at movie premieres to present the edited and final images. Thanks so much for your help! If you need clarification, please don't hesitate to ask.
