Hi,

I'm looking for a small hard case, the smaller the better, for an RX100 (1st gen), so far searching this forum is see the Lowepro Santiago 20 being recommended by one user, any other recommendations out there and has anybody tried the Lowepro Volta 25?

Thanks,

Hi,

I would need to check but I think it is the the Pelican 1020 fits the RX100V1. You can cut the foam to fit the camera.

This for UK readers, mainly.

My RX100 (mark 1) lives in a hard(ish)camera case from Poundland. It's not glam so doesn't attract admiring or envious glances but its smart, tough and only millimetres bigger than the camera. In fact its so snug I'm not sure other rx100 marks would fit.

It 'non-descriptness' also conceals the fact that it's holding a valuable piece of kit so its less likely to attract the attention of muggers and thieves when you're walking around an African shanty town (or anywhere in the US).

It does the job a camera case is meant to do and costs - unsurprisingly - one pound.

The Pelican 1010 fits the RX100 MK1 exactly. If you get the yellow one with the rubber padding in the cover, you'll see a slight impression in the rubber after a while. It's the smallest possible hard shell case for the RX100 MK1.

MegaGear. From eBay.

Adds almost nothing to size or weight. My only problem is that it doesn't work with a grip attached.
