Dear folks

Had anyone thought of trying out a selfie with a camera that has flip out screen in public places. How awkward does it look or do we have to feel embarrassed if tried. Did you watch recently any doing that in public places with the help of a selfie stick kind of a thing for a camera. For me to imagine, its embarrassing but I'm not sure if anyone or many already doing that it has become common. Or is it going to be a new trend that might start, please share your thoughts.

The 'selfie 'revolution' is already upon us, judging by the proliferation of such pictures we see in the media and also the availability of selfie sticks of all sorts. There's really no harm in liking one's own picture, though.

But to date, all selfie pictures we see are characterized by the obvious stretched hand in the foreground, which makes the pictures somewhat 'run of the mill'. Perhaps one can conquer the market by creating a new selfie stick which overcomes that? Or does such a stick already exist?

It is nothing new ; I've done it decades ago - camera on tripod , shot framed up , set self timer , step into shot : done .

Agree. Here is a selfie from 1934:

My Sony A6000 has wifi remote control.

I set the camera up on my Pixi tripod. Frame the shot.

Then go and get in picture and take the picture using my phone to control the camera and take the picture.

I have it set to sent the picture right to my phone.

I can edit the picture with the Photo Shop app and share the picture to any site.

My Sony A5000 has a screen that flips up and made for doing self pictures.

The A5000 has wifi and I can sent the picture to my phone and do the same as above.
