Really liked the colour on this one. Mild crop. Taken with CP-filter

No more summer hiking.

It's hot, quite boring (green everywhere!) and insects bite like crazy.

CC welcome!

What are your thoughts on the samyang 12mm f/2? It's on my short list to purchase for my a5100.

If used correctly, it gives unique results.

Outstanding sharpness (had to disable Sharpening in Adobe Camera RAW) at f/2.0, which does not get any better with closing aperture because it simply can't.

It's the sharpest glass I've ever seen.

I really enjoyed using this lens, though sometimes I felt a bit limited.

My keeper rate was not so high, either, due to the lack of the focal point in the photo.

With ultra-wide lenses objects, which are far away, get unbelievably small - you have to remember that.

All in all, I wanted to give it a try.

Though I made some photos I'm quite pleased with, I've already sold it.

Hope it helps.

Cheers.

The first and third shot are good already, but both could use some cropping IMHO. The first especially to leave out the row of parked cars. I would still try to leave the path between the trees in the middle though. For the third shot I'd try a minor crop, placing the building a bit lower.

The second shot could use a bit more vibrant color, but is nice and moody as is.

Thanks! Very useful tips :)

Had a walk yesterday around Marbury & Anderton (Cheshire) including a short stretch down the Trent & Mersey Canal. Came across a Heron stood by the bank, took a few snaps & whilst we were watching him he spied a fish & dove into the water & caught it:

Thanks for looking

Great shots and very sharp. The 70-300G delivers. Handheld or tripod?

Just before the first dock on the right you can see the G from Lambeau Field.

The clouds remind me of the painting The Scream, it's not the lens doing the elongation, taken w/ Minolta MD 28mm f/2.8.
