I understand that Rokinon/Samyang are the same company, just branded for different markets or companies. I believe there are other names as well.

I can buy either brand name of the same lens on Amazon, so which one is the one intended for the US market? Does it matter? I just want to make sure I buy the one that will have the warranty designed for my market.

I think Rokinon (or Vivitar) are the US brand names - certainly the ones we buy in the UK and Europe are Samyang.

It might not matter though as not all companies are so sniffy about international warranties - maybe check with the central company?

Bower.

I buy whatever brand B&H or Amazon carries for US customers (so it has a US warranty). Got a deal on a 28/2 from Amazon Italy, inexpensive enough that I wasn't concerned about a warranty, but that was an exception.

Interesting article about the three here:

The Samyang lenses are/were sold as

Rokinon, Bower, Vivitar, Prakticar, Opteka, Falcon, Polar, Bell and Howell, Pro-Optic and Walimex.

There might be even more names.

Even more interesting, both Rokinon and Samyang are imported into the U.S. by the same company.

Interesting article and for whatever reason, my preference matches the results in the article. I prefer the Rokinon name for no particular reason. I guess this sort of proves that it doesn't matter which one you buy.
I just checked my m4/3 7.5mm and it's also the Rokinon name, but I bought it used so I didn't have a choice.
