Same here, and the A6000 third party grip doesn't help. It has an indent right on where my ring finger hits, and opens up below that, eliminating any added stability. Sony's OEM battery grips are kind of oddball. They mimic the size of the camera's grip, instead of extending it like other brands. So you have a small grip on the camera, and opening below that, and a small grip on the bottom of the camera the same size as the one on the camera...I sort of have big hands, so my pinky and ring finger are totally off the grip. It can get uncomfortable at times.
Will this help in astrophotography using a6300?? Like giving the extra battery life?Same here, and the A6000 third party grip doesn't help. I wouldn't put it on a tripod. It's nowhere near as stable as the bottom of the camera. Better off using USB power or a dummy battery. Will this help in astrophotography using a6300?? The aMh numbers printed on batteries are even more deceitful than MPG numbers in a new car's sales literature. Wasabi (or any other third party) batteries may or may not be more powerful than Sony batteries, but the number on the back of the battery isn't proof. Trust me.i bought 3rd party batteries, there are a few on Amazon that have 2,300mAh, much more than the 1,050mAh that the Sony batteries have....
I'm thinking you have money burning a hole in your pocket. So i found THIS battery grip... It says it is designed for the a6300, but you can't use the vertical shutter button (not an issue for me).
What do you guys reckon?
They're not larger than OEM. Still the same tech, so you can't fit more battery into the same area. China advertising.i bought 3rd party batteries, there are a few on Amazon that have 2,300mAh, much more than the 1,050mAh that the Sony batteries have.... I'd love to have double the battery power though. I am sure having the grip would extend the battery life on the camera.

You might be able to get +/- 50mah at best. I'm sure there's also some overhead available which Sony doesn't state, and the third parties take advantage of.So is it physically impossible to fit in more mAh into a battery of that size than 1050?
Mounted with the kind of lens you'd expect to use it with:And could you post some pics of your a6300 with the grip? What makes it terrible? Looks like some cheap plastic though...
