I am looking to get a new Digital camera. I currently own a Sony Cybershot P1. Do I need to be conerned with OSX compatibility with a different camera?

Even if it does not work with iPhoto or show up on the list (many cameras may work that are not on list) you should be fine as long as the camera shoots jpgs and you have some sort of memory card reader.

If it shoots in raw or some other pripritory format, thats fine to but only if they have osX converter for it.

If in doubt, buy a card-reader that reads the media, save battery on the camera that way. More chance that's supported than a new camera (however I haven't seen one yet not being recognized by OS X).
