Is there a good user manual out there. This is a very complex piece of equipment.

Also, low cost batteries.

I bought a really good one for a Nikon P7800 and would like something as good for this Panasonic ZS-100z.

Here's the Advanced Manual from Panasonic:

ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/camera/om/dmc-zs60_adv_en_om.pdf

Note that it says ZS60 because the ZS60 and ZS100 are covered in one manual.

Basic operating manual: ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/camera/om/dmc-zs60_en_om.pdf which should be same as the printed one in the box. But PDFs are nice because you can search them.

All good ideas, thanks.

I have the manual on the screen and will download.

Next check ebay for batteries.

Next sell old Nikon P7800

First take some pictures and post here.

Do not buy these batteries and charger. I did and after the third charge the battery died. They are junk. First time I've bought batteries other than Panasonic - never again!

The third-party/off-brand batteries from Wasabi Power are fine. I've been using them on various Panasonic and Sony cameras for at least 4 years now. They work just like the original camera batteries and I've never had one die on me. Their battery chargers will also fully charge Panasonic and Sony brand batteries, at least the chargers I bought from them have always worked properly.

Same experience here. Wasabi batteries and chargers have worked well for me.
