Want a native lens with OSS. 18-105 too big.

Tried the 50 oss but too tight.

I'm worried 35 will also be too tight?

Tried 16-70 got a bad copy. Scared to buy again.

That only leaves 10-18. Is that too wide for day to day? Walkabout, restaurants and video.

Mounted on A6300.

16-50 OSS kit lens.

I have had two that I found just fine. Maybe some bad copies out there.. and if you blow it up to 1:1 its not tack sharp.. But its easy to process.

Here are some of mine last ones are HIGH ISO from A6300.. the first ones from A6000

These are all kit on the streets of Edmonds WA and Canon Beach OR I think these are all LR from RAW and Last two are in camera JPGs from last night.. that I like soo much I may not worry about RAW.

Different Kit lenses I bought a KIT with A6300 so I could sell a Kit with box etc on the A6000 Both are great copies

Don't Panic!.. these are just opinions... go take some pictures..

Very nice, and with the 700 saved over the 10-18, I can get the 70-200 F4. Result!

Think you could be right.
For the price of it I think it's worth having the kit lens if just for its small size. I have the kit and the 18-105G and use the lens that best fits the occasion. I don't mind the size of the 18-105 and I love it's reach and IQ. When I want to go small I'll just take the kit.

I do think the 16-70 is a great lens if you can get a good one, but it's price keeps me away. I picked up the 18-105 for $350 used which for me was a good deal and the right price for it. At that price the lens is a must have!

I find the 35 is good for everyday lens... Usually if you find it too wide or too narrow a couple steps will do the trick to get the FOV you want. Restaurant is probably the only place where I always want a wider lens for food porn....otherwise the 35mm take portrait in restaurant just fine.

I use a Canon EFS 10-18 STM on my a6300. I pretty much stays on my camera indoors. It has IS and great for video since almost everything is in focus at the wide angle. That said, Its not a good walk about lens. I have been on the hunt myself. The kit isn't too bad if you stay away from the edges. Problem is that their is no good light weight IS options out there. Just doesn't exist for any brand. Either go big and heavy or settle for pretty decent quality and keep it lightweight. I myself haven't figured out which way I want to go.

I sent a bad 16-70 back to Amazon. I'm happy with its replacement. Maybe there's just one bad copy out there and everyone gets the same one at first?
