Great News. Use this software almost all the time in p.s. Always enjoyed the implementation in Nikon Capture NX the best; was much easier to use there.

Thanks for posting this. I wasn't going to ever buy NIK, but it's a very nice freebie.

Had just posted this too but quickly saw you beat me too it so withdrew it in the NIK of time. ;-)

Downloaded it a little while ago and everything seems to be there.

Wouldn't have bought it either but nice to get free!

Can someone enlighten me as to exactly what this is? The linked page mentions plug-ins which makes me hopeful that they'll work with Photoshop. But Photoshop isn't mentioned and the page makes reference to mobile editing tools, so I'm left really wondering just what this stuff is supposed to plug into.
Yes, Photoshop/Lightroom/PS Elements/Aperture plugins. I've read they also work as stand-alone applications, as well, but have not yet tried that.

More info as to what the filters do here: https://www.google.com/nikcollection/

Requirements:

Mac:
  • Mac® OS X 10.7.5 through 10.10
  • Adobe Photoshop CS4 (CS5 for HDR Efex Pro 2) through CC 2015
  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 through 13 (apart from HDR Efex Pro 2, which is not compatible with Photoshop Elements)
  • Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 through 6/CC
  • Apple® Aperture® 3.1 or later
Windows:
  • Windows Vista®, Windows 7, Windows 8
  • Adobe Photoshop CS4 through CC 2015
  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 through 13 (apart from HDR Efex Pro 2, which is not compatible with Photoshop Elements)
  • Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 through 6/CC
GPU Compatibility:

NVIDIA GeForce 8 Series, GeForce 9 Series, GeForce 100 Series, GeForce 200 Series, GeForce 300 Series, GeForce 400 Series, GeForce 500 Series, ATI Radeon HD2000 Series, Radeon HD3000 Series, Radeon HD4000 Series, Radeon HD5000 Series, Radeon HD6000 Series.

If no compatible card is available, GPU acceleration will be disabled and the CPU will be used.

They are absolutely PS plugins and should work with Lightroom as well. This page is more of a traditional product site: https://www.google.com/nikcollection/ . IMO, Color Efex Pro and Silver Efex Pro are really essentials that most everyone should have now that they're free.

Wow Sean, talk about living under a rock! (Just having fun so don't take it personal :-))

Yes those are indeed PS & LR plugins. And the most highly rated of the bunch is Silver Efex (B&W program). The package is easy to install and will easily install into both LR & PS CC. It will also install in older PS & LR programs, although you "may" have to point to the plugin folder.

Anyway this is DEFINITELY a program worth getting, if for no other reason than Silver Efex. Though there is also Color Efex, Define, HDR Efex, Sharpener, and Viverza (which basically allow you to pin-point areas of your image for enhancements).

The suite is well worth the price of downloading. And I don't think you'll be disappointed, especially with Silver Efex.

My two cents.

OK, thanks guys. It sounds like I'd have to be a little crazy not to at least try them.

Yeah, it's definitely worth a try. Let us know what you think. Oh, and don't be afraid to play with the preset setting, as well as the control points in SE (Silver Efex). Once you get the gist of it, I'm thinking you'll really like it.

BTW I've been using the suite since 2012 when I paid $249 for it and still didn't feel cheated so free is definitely worth it.

Peace:)

Back in the bad old film days I remember hearing a lot of good things about NIK Sharpen. However nowadays it may be no better than Photoshop smart sharpen.

I have zero interest in B&W photography, but would like to hear comments from users trying the other plug-ins for the first time. Thanks.

Yup, I agree with ADMint -- Silver Efex (B&W conversions) is truly excellent.

I also like Dfine (noise reduction) and Sharpener Pro.

I'm not into all the other funky color/artistic effects stuff and I wouldn't waste time on that unless it's something you like to do.

Does anyone know if it works with Windows 10 and Elements 14? The requirements list is for older software. Thanks!
Don't know about PS Element 14, don't use it, but it definitely works under Windows 10. I know because I'm running Windows 10 as well as both PS & LR. Absolutely no issues.

Is this the latest version with Silver Effects Pro 2, Verveza 2, Color Effects Pro 4 etc or the older versions? If it's the older versions, can they be updated to the latest versions?

Hello:

I went to the link but I didn't see how to download the programs.

Can someone explain me where to find the download "button"?

Kind regards,

Urbanito
