Tamron 90 2.8 autofocus not working

Hi,

I have the Tamron 90mm 2.8 and its a great lens. However the auto focus has stopped working completely. I use it with a Nikon D800 and all my other Nikon lenses work with this body. It started to have problems and I'd just have to remove the lens and wipe the contacts and the auto focus would work again. Then eventually it stopped completely... When I press the AF button on the side of my D800 to change from AF-S to AF-C, nothing happens, it seems the lens is not communicating with the camera.

I tried with with my old D80 and it worked but as soon as I switched to manual focus and back to auto it stops working. Then I tried again on the D800 and it worked once but as soon as I switched to manual focus on the lens nothing. And after a few more tries with the D80, nothing..

I tried to contact Tamron, but got no reply.

Apart from this, its a great lens, I really like it and use it in manual focus a lot but I would like to have auto focus as well.

Anyone have similar problems with this lens?

Just in case someone else has the same problem...

Here I found a solution although my lens is not fixed I am able to use the autofocus again thanks to this video:

Would cost 137€ to get it fixed here in Paris. Decided its not worth it...
