I submit to you some sample images with minimal commentary. Camera (X-T10) was set to Velvia, Fine WB (daylight,) Sharp+1, NR+1. Exposure and autofocus modes varied. All images are JPEG straight from the camera. Light was limited and generally bad, but, you do what you can. I anticipate getting a better experience (and results) with the upcoming X-Pro2 and/or X-T2, but, so far, the combo is performing acceptably for what it is.

Lens + TC look sharp, thanks for the pictures.I was thinking of picking up a T10 to shoot, while waiting for the

T2 . I'm still rocking the Ex1 which I purchased at release.

Yeah, the X-T10 is temporary for me. I have an order in for X-Pro2, but, if it doesn't ship out by the end of March I will probably just cancel and wait for the X-T2 which is really what I want anyway, even if it's nothing but a sensor update (though I do believe it will be significantly more change than that.)

X-T10 does okay, if there are any performance issues using this lens, though, I have to assume they primarily come from the X-T10's weak processor. The small buffer doesn't do any favors for shooting animals, either.

I mainly wanted to get out and shoot a bit of my own tests since most of what I've seen so far are—whether the shooter knows it or not—extreme torture tests for long lenses, with a lot of atmospheric garbage mucking up shots and slight misfocuses which really mess with long lens images, particularly when a teleconverter is involved.

Most of what I got that wasn't involving a very distant subject is printable 18x12 easily, and that's without any editing.

At any rate, I look forward to using this lens with a better camera someday.

Nice samples, thanks for sharing.

Out of interest, what type of bird is it?

Pretty sure it's an American Robin. It's actually three different individuals, all the same species.

Thanks, that would've been my guess but I wasn't confident at all!
