Take care & Happy Shooting . . . with a Nikon D500!

This press conference is about as exciting as watching paint dry, but at least they're bringing out some nice new cameras. lol

Well. We just had some of our rooms painted over the holiday . . . so I actually got to watch paint dry.

This is a bit more exciting. LOL.

Take care & Happy Shooting!

Reading the streaming twitter updates from DPR. Looks promising.

Are the controls like the D300 or D600? Hopefully D300.

Any word on the pricing?

I'm stupefied. I thought the big meteor would strike before we saw this. Though technically still don't have our D400, ha ha.

In years to come people will ask where were you when Nikon announced the D400 er D500 and I will reply sitting in the front room on my ipad at 6am with a cup of tea admiring my newly painted shelves. Ah nothing beats the fresh smell of gloss enamel in the morning.

Watching the DPReview Twitter feed and it looks like we finally have an updated successor to the D300/D300s!

It will be interesting to see the full specs and such.

I will take a page from recent history and NOT be an early adopter and let some of the dust settle on production issues first.

Congrats to all of us die hard D300 users who stuck it out and waited. Our long awaited reward is at hand.

Michael

I cannot recall if I said never or thought about saying it. Either way good news.

I''''ve gone mirrorless.

Too late for me. Went w/ an used D800 from D7100. Switched to all FX lenses too.

Yeah, me too. It'll give me a little time to save up for it too.

when do i get it? what's the price?

who knows what a distant future D400 is ever going to exist ... - LOL

when do i get it? what's the price?
oh yeah, March, $2K ... i guess I should have finished reading ... too much excitement :-)

29.9 mp that's unexpected is this a totally Nikon designed sensor.

I think, somewhere, Thom Hogan is feeling vindicated from all the things said about him regarding the D300 successor...

Since the D300 I've had the 700, 800, and 750. I'll be buying this 500 later this year. Just have to decide what I'll do with the 750. Maybe an astro conversion.
