800 people working on the iPhone's 6s camera at Apple. Where is the problem with the soft pictures then?

it is to do with consumer vs prosumer. The consumer wants butter smooth images with punchy color, and no visible noise, whereas the prosumer wants a lesser processed noisier image that retains better detail and more natural colors.

Apple should make an option in the camera app for the user to choose an image processing style.

they can employ 800.000 people to work on it unless they put bigger sensor the pics will stay awful
 
And yet there is so much smearing and high NR even at low iso, wonder what they were doing...
