Just received the RRS tripod plat for the GX8 and, as usual, they've done a nice job. Fits perfect, nothing blocked, and is finished to their usual standards. Now....where did I put that tripod?

It's true: once you use one of these there's no going back. Mounting, and flipping form horizontal to vertical is just too easy.I've had several of their ArcaSwiss compatible camera plates. I just received one for my GX7 - as you described yours, it fits perfectly. I cringe when I think of screwing a tripod camera screw into my cameras.

I don't want a big L plate, so I find this works just fine on my GX8 (and on previous MFT bodies I have owned): http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/B6-Bidirectional-plate-with-one-1-4-20-screw My ballhead lets me rotate the camera for portrait orientation.

It doesn't even show an image for that "BGX8" plate, but at that price presumably it is just the bottom plate, like this BGX7 plate for the GX7: http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/BGX7-Plate-for-Lumix-GX7RRS got back to me and said there is a problem with the website. In the meantime, this is a direct link to a plate for the GX8: http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/product/12601
