So I have an old PW 3 set up and it's big by todays standards. I ordered some of those Yonguo RF 630N II's and they would be great if I could mount one on camera and then mount my Sb910 on top of that and it would pass the TTL info through physically while I was triggering an off camera non ttl flash which is what I want to do. TTL on camera, non ttl off camera, no problem. (Do it all the time with the PW's at weddings.) It's got all the contacts but just passes the trigger through. Whatever.

So any small less expensive radio triggers that pass through the ttl info for the on camera flash?

Thanks!

The Yongnuo YN-602 II triggers are simple triggers that only send, receive, or pass-through a simple "fire" trigger command.

Yongnuo YN-622 TTL triggers require that you use the YN-622-TX with Nikon cameras and it doesn't have pass-through capabilities.

The Phottix Strato™ II Multi 5-in-1 Wireless Flash Trigger for Canon, Nikon and Sony should work. You get a transmitter and receiver for $106 and the Phottix equipment is high quality equipment.

Thanks! I will check those out.

I don't understand why Yongnuo went through all the trouble to put all the contacts in but didn't wire it for pass through. Really cuts down on the usability for me.
The RF-603s are simple triggers, not TTL triggers. They are only used when your flash units are all set to Manual Flash. The pass through works exactly as it should with these triggers.

What you are asking for is TTL triggers with pass-through - a completely different type of trigger. The Phottix triggers are TTL triggers with TTL pass-through capability.

I have no idea if you can use the off-camera flash in Manual power mode and the flash mounted on the on-camera Phottix transmitter in TTL mode. Phone or email them and ask before buying.

Combining TTL and Manual is not something I would do but I can see how it might be useful at something like a wedding dance. The Manual light for general room lighting, the TTL flash for the run and gun shots of dancers.

In that case I would be using low cost Manual only flash units like the YN-560 IV that have a built-in optical slave that can be set to ignore pre-flashes from the TTL flash. I believe some Nikon flash units can also do that.
I will get a set of those strato's I think that's exactly what I'm looking for.
