on the other hand

if you are feeling that old

you could also prop yourself up by clasping the handle made of gold

I just KNEW you would come up with something to foil those rent-A-cops!

Great work.

Now where does the bourbon flask go??

Yup! Not quite yet, tho........

Yes you should have.

That's awesome.

Reminds me of the movie (cant remember the name) where the guy was in an empty apartment, and woke up after heavy night sleeping on the ONLY thing in the place, a telephone that was laying in the middle of the floor.

Yes, This ought to get past the Swiss Guards outside the Pope's house.

As in love and war, all is fair in dealing with them, in my opinion.

I had a particular problem with one local museum, as they have a general ban on photography, except for some select exhibits and events. Unless I contacted the museum management and got permission ahead of time, the staff at the museum would usually prevent me from even entering with my camera.

Anyway, I got to know one of the managers at the museum, and explained that I was actually trying to promote attendance at the museum, by posting my photos in a local online magazine on Facebook. She eventually came around, and liked what I was doing, and now she has given me pretty much carte blanche permission to shoot there. However, I still have to email her when I want to cover an exhibit, and she then alerts the museum staff to allow me access.

So it can be very frustrating in dealing with museums. You can encounter an entire spectrum of different policies that you have to deal with, depending on the individual museum. There is one museum and a couple of local art galleries that I have totally given up on, they are so hostile to photographers.

This is what the entrance to that museum reminds me of:

This is a most sly and cunning idea that you have come up with. If this tactic fails, then my recommendation would be to get to know a key person in the museum's management. Perhaps you can convince them that you do not have nefarious purposes for bringing your camera gear with you.

Lance I have been in that same exact boat.

Of interest, while visiting Krakow in Poland, most of the churches and small museums don't allow photography, and there are signs outside stating this. However when entering, they inform you that you may purchase a photography licence, (usually for one Euro) and they give you a sticker to put on your shirt, coat hat etc, and away you go.

This isn't a bad compromise, and your helping the establishment as well.

Nice, will come in handy when you are in NYC as well outside of musuems.

Times Square, Subway, Grand Central Station, St. Patricks, Top of The Rock, Empire State Building and I am sure others all have a policy which you may be able to skirt around with your new cane.

I'm hoping it works without any problems??? But I'm always thinking!

Luckily I'm old enough that a cane looks normal for me!
