...because it draws more attention to the baby's eyes. There's too much empty space in this wider shot (for my personal liking).

I generally like the cropped head. I started liking it after watching some Peter Hurley tutorials (not models... Just beautiful head shots) and starting to play around with it.

However, in this case I think the whole head shot is better.

It's a lovely photo of an adorable baby

Thanks for your feedback MHS. I generally like headcrops too but I also prefer this one, partly as the baby is looking slightly up so there is space for her to 'look' into.
