I am looking into a full frame body and a midrange zoom to go with it, but financially, I need to hold of on purchasing that lens. Just curious, I have a Nikon 16-85 DX lens, which I realize will present vignetting issues on the wide end. Has anybody used this lens on their full frame bodies? What are the limitations of using this lens on a full frame body? This would be an interim solution and that I would eventually get a proper FX zoom.

You could shoot in crop mode or crop images afterwards. Technically, it would certainly work.

Would you put 12" rims on your Tahoe? They will work - sort of.

The answer is yes - and don't do it. Why not a used Nikon 50mm f1.8 for $80 - or less?

A 50 1.8 is definitely on my list and is probably the best starting point. Most accounts of DX lenses on FX cameras say that when used in FX mode, there is serious cropping on the wide end but afterward, you can get nice results. I was wondering if anybody had tried it with this lens on an FX camera. I really don't like to go without a walk-around zoom on a camera.

Thank you! This is what I needed to know.
