After a few months of reflecting and pondering, I finally got to a decision: sold the Sony RX100 (and by the way in the process of selling a full Nikon set of DSLR and lenses) and got a Ricoh GR as my main and only camera.
First impressions are great: the camera is light but very solid, feels great in your hands. The controls are superb and so are the numerous menu options (some of them are very, very subtle and much appreciated).
Camera is fast and responsive. Only issue I'm seeing is macro focusing in low light (and I suggest not to turn on the option "AF mode = fast" because makes the AF behave in a crazy way), but since my style of photography mainly involves urban landscape taken during daylight I don't care so much (but I want to try the GR at night soon!).
And then the image quality: absolutely amazing. The lens is really sharp. I'm attaching here a couple of pictures, the second one is not very interesting but it works well to show how sharp this camera is even at 2.8 (I suggest to zoom in). I'm moving from a 20mp camera to a 16mp one and what I'm seeing is a significative increase in quality. That's great. I have the feeling that I'll have a great time with this camera (and didn't bother about the GRII since I'm not interested in wi-fi).
One more thing: at the end of my first day of shooting the battery was low... so I guess my next buy is an additional battery (and maybe a charger, too).
