I just bought new epson stylus photo R3000 put in refillable cartriges with ocp ink and my printer doesnt print. I mean it is printing but what i get is white paper.. There is ink on the sponge but i cant get any ink on my prints.. Can anyone tell me where is the problem ?...

I've no experience with refillable cartridges, but, since you bought it new, it should have come with a set of Epson cartridges.

Put those in and see if you get ink on paper.

(Remember to take the tape off - I forgot to on one and wondered why that channel wasn't printing.)

As SantaFeBill stated did you first set up the printer with the OEM cartridges to load the ink feed lines and get an acceptable nozzle check pattern print?

If you skipped the OEM carts and went directly with refillable carts, did you properly prime the carts with the vacuum method? If not and you expect the carts to feed ink without priming then you got air in all the feed lines and it's very hard to remove air from a R3000 printer.

As already mentioned, try the Epson cartridges first.

On the refillables, two things...

1. Make sure you remove the air hole plugs. There should be two holes on the top, one with e color coded plug with a tab and one with a clear circular plug(at least this is the way most of the cartriges I have seen are). Remove the clear circular plug(not the colored one) as this is the air hole.

2. If you didn't remove the air hole plug first and tried to print, you will most like need to re-prime all the catridges, to get ink to flow again. The way I do this is take one of those rubber air hole plugs I removed and use one of the refill syringes to poke a hole thru it. I then remove the bottom priming plug, insert the one with the hole I made, insert the syringe and pull the plunger until ink comes into the syringe. I then just put the original plpug back and you should be ready to go.

Unless you have some strange cart that I'm not aware of.

This video shows the proper way to prime all the R3000 refillable that I have ever seen.

Non sugar coated answer:

Without having read the other comments, this is what you've very likely done wrong.

You should have installed the OEM carts first and initiate the printer which you probably did not.

I hope you did not try to initiate the printer with refillable????? OUCH!

Are you planning to sell them ( OEM Carts ) and that's why you did not install them like you should have?

You did not prime the refillable carts and thus you have no ink flowing into the system as there is only air in the priming chamber.

And far as your ink choice, if you are planning to only print on Matte papers ( if you get it to print ) you will NOT like OCP inks on Glossy Luster or Satin. Terrible gloss and bronzing!!!! Otherwise the inks is very good for fine art and matte media prints. I currently use it one on my 3800s ( I am up to 26 printers now ).

Been there!

Interesting, doesn't look like those cartridges have the priming plug on the bottom like I have seen with other Epson models.

I didn't put OEM cartriges because i did't want to mix two different inks in the head print. I was going to use OCP inks as long as its possible.

I was aware that i had to make a mistake somewhere and Chuck.. OH MY GOD.. Chuck you're my hero !!! I LOVE you :D you helped me and you made my day :) I owe you :)
