We have the 'evening thunder storms' season here (Washington DC metro area) and day before yesterday, the storm cleared right around sunset and there was this this amazing, soft orange glow.

We were near a farm and the greens were super intense, fog rising from the tree in the middle. I was able to get a few pictures before we had to continue - here is one. Wish I had more time to get some better composition and other scenes but I had already spent my 5 minutes of photo time !

I would have lowered the camera to create more foreground interest.

(Actually that's not true--I would have forgotten to lower the camera to the ground, and I wouldn't have caught it by chimping because it isn't that obvious on a small screen. But in my fantasy perfect world that is what I would have done.)

Thanks Rick and Duke.

The composition is decidedly meh - I do try and run through my mental checklists - rule of 3rds, balance, leading lines, contrast, texture, foreground..... - but forgot most of it and then had to run.

Hope the quality of light comes through at least a tiny bit !
