New version of Photoline is out - V19

This might be a good program but the whole of this thread reads like an organised advert - shame it took a while before someone pointed out that it is not a free program - the linked website does'nt.......

The price was noted in the 3rd response to the OP.

The big "Buy Now" button at the top of the product webpage(s) indicates it is not a free program.

The reason why I left it out in the first place was simple: if you add prices it is often seen as an advert, and I just wanted to report about the new release - that is all. A previous post about Photoline that I posted was removed a while ago, and I really think Photoline is a serious alternative for more in-depth image processing. I replaced PS CS6 with PL within the scope of the last two years. I would never post or rave about an application here if I did not think it was worth the attention.

Besides, other applications such as Lightroom and Photoshop attract 99% of the attention generally anyway - most people do not even consider alternatives. This one thread about Photoline will not change that fact, in my opinion.

I am not sure if you followed the dehaze discussion on Adobes prodesign blog, but they have just announced a dehaze function for the next versions of Photoshop and Lightroom. Well, Photoline 19 is ahead of the curve this time. It is only good to see some competition out there.

Photoshop used to be the leader but now is often nothing more then a follower. New features are implemented very slowly and most of the time you need to buy new versions to get the new tools, unless you bought into the subscription trap.

I think v19 defenately deserves some prime time in the spotlights as it is a very well thought out program with lots of features for such a small amout of money that someone has to wonder why photoshop is still so expensive! Or some photoshop plug-ins for that matter.

For the price of a modest plug-in(most Photoshop plug-ins are way more expensive, i know i got a lot of them), you get a full fletched program with lots of features wich are better then photoshop's features.

€59,- is really a bargin in software land! Believe me, i am used to way,way higher prices for a piece of (professional) software. And it's an ideal companion to photoshop. Especially for people who don't own the creative suite for instance(Illustrator,Indesign). Photoline has a lot of those features of these two programs build in! Just to be clear, Illustrator and Indesign are still more advanced on a whole, but it's nice to have some features like that build in and not being forced to open 3 programs to do some of what photoline can do.

In the end, it's up to the user what she/he thinks works best for her or him, simple as that, but for €59,- this is, just like the more obvious competitors, a serious piece of software worth looking into!

I use Photoline since the late 90s (I think version 6 or 7). It's a very good photo editing software with many capabilities, much better than some "other famous" image editors. In case of dehaze, I would like to post my own results. The first imagine is the original image that i have taken with my bridge camera and it has much noise. The second image is the one i have modified by using photoline. I have reduced the noise with plugin (*.8bf), i have used the automatic correction of photoline and then I have used, dehaze. It took me no more than 2 minutes for these results, without focusing in much detail. I wanted quick and good results.

Using the above procedure, I took the following results

This is the modified picture with Photoline. It has been used automatic correction and dehaze (a noise reduction plugin, it has also been used)
