Rokinon 135 f/2 on the Q7 = not easy but pretty fun.

Pros:

621mm FOV and f/2 (Diffraction sets in at around f/4 on the Q7)

Q7 has SR & focus peaking

Pentax K to Q mount adapter has a leaf shutter.

The Rokinon is sharp.

Light weight for a 621mm f/2 (LOL)

Cons:

LCD screen is practically impossible to see in bright sun let alone the focus peaking itself.

No OVF or EVF (Who needs one right?)

621mm shakes around a lot held out away from the body.

Leaf shutter in the adapter is maxed out at 1/1000 (The Q lenses can do 1/2000) & I want at least 1/800 for my often moving subjects so one must operate in a very narrow shutter speed range.

So was I able to get any shots to come out?

One of a bicyclist riding away almost made the cut. The shutter & exposure were correct but I was a bit late with the focus.

Here is the rig:

Q7 K-mount adapter & Rokinon 135 f/2 mounted

This is a target slow enough for me to manual focus on. :-) That lens is blowing me away no matter what the subject & camera.

Duck family into the sun water sparkles. I couldn't count them until I saw the shot. I count 12 + mother.

Birds hopping around in the trees is a bit more difficult. It is really hard to keep up with focus & they are pretty small on the LCD

Need this guy to come out and pose.

Static (but very far away) object is easier. SR works a bit.

Colours are decent.

Phew! That was hard work. Now I know why I like AF.

Cheers.

Interesting start, i'd like to see more results though to actually make a decision on how good it it. I'm not saying i'll buy it just interested to see how good you can get.
