I had one of the best days I've had yesterday with my FZ1K, went to the Reifel Bird Sanctuary. I don't know if it was just luck or the stars aligned or what but the wildlife certainly was co-operative.

It started with a pair of Bald Eagles which I got last summer, not sure if they were the same Eagles or not but it was a good start.

Anyway here are some of the shots I managed to get. Quite a few are 4k Video Grabs.

What a crowd must be a Siege of Herons. I've never seen that many together before. Taken with FZ150.

an excellent set, both birds and light were on your side :)

You've captured some amazing shots and I really enjoyed viewing them. Thanks for sharing them.

Excellent pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful set. You clearly got the camera with the "Now with more and better birds inside" sticker :-)

Not sure? You might want to kill me for saying this but that's probably my favourite shot of the bunch. Not only is the duck itself on the more interesting side in terms of appearance the way it contrasts with the sky blue reflection is really nice. And the water that is spilling from its bill somehow helps to instill a sense of grace and elegance.

Or something like that. My vocabulary feels a bit disjointed at times.

Anyway, nice shot(s) :)

You've taken some great shots there Colin. The 4K video still shots give superb results most of the time. In fact, I think they are better than the normal still shots, especially if you're close.

Some of those birds haven't moved since the day we were both thee last November. Ha!

The last shot is a Pintailed Duck.

Nice images. According to EXIF the exposure compensation was 655 Ev for several of the images. That's quite a bit! ;-) Was 400mm EFL enough, or are the images cropped afterwards?

Thanks Cainn, no need to apologize, we all have our favourites. It's nice when it all comes together.
