How Do I Turn Off Hot Shoe?

I can't find my manual for the camera, seems I misplaced it when I shipped it to Bristol. How do I turn off the Hot Shoe? I need to get another manual or book, any suggestions for that? THanks again-

Turn the sellector knob to SET UP...scrole down to 2 then to hotshoe...sellect on/off
