I have a samsung nx30 that stops turning ON when it is left for awhile in a room that is cold. I do not intentionally leave it in a cold place but my room is colder than the other rooms at home. I just leave it on the desk and something it would not turn ON but if I leave the camera in another not-so-cold room for 1-2 days, it would work fine again.

My samsung nx1000 and other-brand cameras does not experience this.

Could the cold affect a camera? Anyone else have a similar experience? Please share. Or I just have a bad nx30 camera?

This is a typical sign of a very low battery or a defective one. Try it this way: leave the camera in the cold room but the battery in the warm one. Then take the bettery to the cold room and try to start your camera with it. If it works, the battery is causing the problem.

I had a very similar issue on holiday with the NX300. In that case, it was the extreme humidity outside that caused issues when i took the camera into the air conditioned apartment. Wouldnt turn on, or would work very erratically (sometimes turn on, other times the green light flashing). Eventually worked ok when it was back to normal environmental conditions (i.e. the UK!).

Think you could have something similar with condensation/ humidity? Ever since, I bought silica gel sachets and always keep a bunch in the camera bag. Not sure if it helps, but has been problem free since
