I bought my V-Lux 2 knowing that it is 'just a Panasonic'. I happily added it to my collection which includes 'just a Nikon', a couple of 'just a Canon's and several other Panasonics. In fact, I have been using Lumix cameras since 2003 when I bought my first FZ1.
Lumix cameras have nothing to be ashamed of or marginalized. They are GREAT! Panasonic produces outstanding electronic products, and Leica produces outstanding lens designs. Marry the two and the result can't help but be impressive. Then add a Leica badge . . .
My V-Lux produces images at least as good as any super-zoom on the market. It's not up to the standard of an M9, but my talent is not up to that of Henri Cartier Bresson.
So go ahead, look down on me and my wannabe Leica. I'm happy and nothing else matters.
