Here's a dead mouse that has been living in my car leaving droppings everywhere and damaging my auto heating/cooling system caught via a $2.00 Viceroy mouse trap. I like the soft pinks and yellow hues my camera captured in this scene at sunset.

Over the years here, invading mice and chipmunks have cost me $thousands in repair bills on my automobiles. I shed no tears when I nail them.

A whisker out of focus.

Exposure dead on.

Nice...err... capture. Well done (both the image and the trap).

Huh? Is there some rule against this documented somewhere? I do it intentionally so my comments are readily visible when the post is brought up but it retains the OP I'm responding to for reference. Scrolling through a long thread can be tiresome and I personally (at times) prefer this method of commenting (or reading other posts). Either way, I don't want to break any forum rules.

I'm more than happy to conform to forum guidelines if this is explicitly called out somewhere in the rules. I've been posting here (and periodically top posting) for a very long time and this is the first time this has been pointed out.

Why didn't you use a trap that doesn't kill the mouse?!

Huh? Is there some rule against this documented somewhere?
No, but this has been an informal rule, just like rule of etiquette.

If you want to be visible, then just click on reply.

Please note that the visibility disappear after the next reply, because "we all" go to the bottom so me and hundreds of other do not see it.

The other problem is that it doesn't follow the chronological order so your comments are ignored.

THAT is a really odd informal rule. I have never seen someone getting scolded by this hahaha!

Makes no sense :-)

Did you have an opinion about the photo?
Yes, I have an opinion and I do not like the photo.
  1. I'm a "wuss" and I do not like the subject.
  2. I use to volunteer my photographic services in the Vancouver Downtown Eastside, North America's poorest postal code. Open air drugs in front of the police station. Homelessness, drunkenness, ... and I made the decision to not photograph people's misery.
  3. I feel that this photo is just a "snap". To me, it seems that "I was walking by and pressed on the shutter." I do not see a composition or an attempt at one...
Please note that this is my personal opinion about a photo. Not DPR, not anybody else...

That's a pretty impressive dead mouse to be leaving droppings and assaulting your cooling system. I'm not sure I have come across such a mouse. Anyone else?

Cheese would be rather nice.

Thanks for your opinion.

Lanidrac.

Edit: I forgot to add that a second same invader mouse suffered the same end in my sedan, but I'll save you guys that pic. It's life and death sometimes in photography and it's not always a rosy sunset even if we'd like it to be.
