Received my new lens today. Finished cleaning some windows to keep
my better half happy. Then packed my lens and headed down towards the river in my neighborhood. Most shots are at 600mm when I remembered to place it there at wide open or f/7.1,auto iso on Manual.

Shooting almost anything I could find. Most of the shots looked real good. I am very excited about this lens/camera combo. Under overhead lighting mid afternoon it did great. Looking forward to shooting in the coming weeks. Exceeded my expectations on the first go-round.

1)

3)

i have the same combo and have not had much chance to use it because of work. I am hoping for some good weather this weekend to get out by the lake and try it out. Nice images, not bad for a "consumer" lens.

Nice results and good shooting. This is the Tamron? Wonder how it compares to Sigmas' Bigma, 50~500 which was great.

Thanks. Just a quick test. I purchased this because of weight issues with large lenses. I think the quality will be very good. Unless you are selling your images printed extremely large ,(for me I'm getting older) this will suite me fine. I posted another shot,it's been degraded a little from compression for the web site, but it looks great on my 30 inch monitor.

Best of Luck….

Thanks...

Nice work. I like the sharpness in that last one at 500mm. If you could do me a favor the next time you go out, could you try to shoot in Aperture priority at ISO 400 (to 640 when it gets a little darker) using highlight weighed metering with in-camera noise reduction turned off at 14bit RAW and picture control set to neutral? Wide open and stopped down samples would be great. Maintaining a shutter speed of at least 1/1600s minimum would be good too.

I wanted to rent this lens to try it myself, but it will be a while before the lens is available. At least a month or two out. Since we both have a D750 and shoot similar subjects, it would be nice to see the results with my settings. :D I'd like to compare it to my 300mm f/4D ED-IF AF-S + 1.4 TC which brings it to 420mm at f/5.6, but I do stop down to f/6.3 with the TC on.

Agreed, and sharp enough indeed! Sorry, I didn't even think to look at your gear list (duh!).

Not sure if these will suffice your request, but I just got my D750 this afternoon and took some shots with the Tammy:

So far so good - D750 for $1999.00 + one day shipping $69.00 Shutter count = 1 yeah!

Since you shot those images with ISO 1600, noise reduction turned on and shutter speed of 1/1000s, not exactly. :D But, thanks for sharing. More examples at different settings don't hurt. :) If you have the time and could try those settings I posted on one of your outings, I'd be forever grateful. :D Would love to see how they turn out.

Very nice colors in those sunset shots!
