Not the old Elements Plus.

I cannot come to grips with Elements, let alone the full version of Photoshop. Give me Nik & OnOne every time.

E+ promises to unlock some of the crippled functionality. Anyone use it? Should I persevere with Elements & E+ & try to get to grips with it?

There's an E+ update out for Elements v13.

I picked Elementets XXL to supplement PSE12. I had considered Elements+ but thought that the XXL gave me more I needed in a slightly more convenient interface. Having looked at what's new in E+ I must say that they've included some of those things that were missing when compared with the competition a year ago.

Great shots, Marcin. As the worlds worst retoucher, I need all the help I can get, without going to CS6. I will be buying PSE 13 soon , but what is Elements XL? Thanks, Brent

Thanks, Brent! You've got some very nice photos yourself (love the colors in your landscape and nature photography), though I'd reconsider the level and the extent of sharpening you applied to some of them.

Both ElementsXXL and Elements+ shorten the distance that exists between the full PS and PSE. They make it possible for me to e.g. use the frequency separation technique in PSE, or use the luminosity masking technique without having to rent my tools (by going the Adobe CC route). If you want to see what ElementsXXL looks like in conjunction with PSE11 and PSE12 you can have a look at these tutorials:

If you already have Photoshop Elements and aren't finding PSE to be sufficient then you can indeed add Elements + or Elements XXL to PSE. The problem is that these add-ons increase the price of PSE.

Another option that you should explore is PaintShop Pro X7. This program is lower in price than PSE and has many of the capabilities missing in PSE.

If you can't come to grips with elements, not to mention full Photoshop, then why would you want something in-between? If you want something more than elements, that has more of the capabilities of full Photoshop, and you think that might be useful to you, then why not get BOTH Photoshop and Lightroom for $10/month? -- - Bill

I didn't realize there was Elements+ or XXL.

I can some things things on their websites but a few things that I'm not sure, does anyone know if + or XXL has these features:
  • Pen tool
  • Select color range
  • Apply image
  • Blend if
Thanks
