I purchased my Pro 3800 in 2009 and thereafter it has hardly been used.
I now would like to make sure that I have the most recent print drivers installed.

My present driver version is 9.22

I looked for available drivers and found:

- 13884.dmg;

- PrintDriver2.18.dmg;

- 16250.dmg;

- 378843eu.dmg;

- 377567eu.dmg

* What should I download?

* I can't find any clear info about: "how to install drivers on iMac 10.6.8"

well, the US driver #s are different from Europe so it might be hard to compare. Also, the 3800 has been out of production for at least 3 years so any driver changes will be small or zero in any meaningful way. On the US site, they sense what OS you're running and point you to the latest driver for that OS. I have no idea what the #s relate to for European users. V9.17 is the latest for 3880 users in the US (but again, that doesn't correlate to European version #s)

On a Mac, connect it via usb and run software update.

I found the following print drivers for my Epson Pro 3800 with iMac10.6.8:

Printer Driver v9.22
07/14/14 47.3 MB epson16250.dmg

Common Updater v7.0
5/13/10 13.6 MB epson13884.dmg

These should be the most recent ones?

Does anybody have even more recent Print Drivers?

there are no more recent drivers. v9.22 is dated only a month ago; it's not like the drivers are updated 'often'. The most current driver for the 3880 is dated mid-2013.

You do not need the Common Updater if you have v9.22 as it incorporates the changes (that needed to happen to driver v8.63 as I recall but it was years ago).

You're really making more out of this than need-be. Does your printer print and give you reasonably good correlation between what you see on-screen w/ the print output?

Howard:
Thank you for your advise!

First of all I am happy to read that the v9.22 is the most recent driver for my 3800.
If I don't need the Common updater should I un-install same, and if so, how do I do that?

What I read "in between your lines of text" is don't worry, just print!

there is no uninstaller for the driver as far as I know.

delete the printer from the Printer Preference.

Use Finder (or Terminal if you know how) and remove /Library/Printers/EPSON

reboot

install the 9.22 driver and NEVER use any Apple Software Update for Epson.

Howard,

Thank you for your advise.
That is easy:

If I do understand you well, I just put Library/printers/Epson into the trash.
Reboot my iMac (with the Epson switched on?) and thereafter install 9.22 again which still is in the Finder and that is it?

Almost too simple!
