Has anyone seen any information that indicates what the filter size will be for the upcoming Olympus 40-150 f2.8 pro lens?

I'm looking at buying a filter system for my micro 4/3s kit. The Lee Seven5 system seems good, but the maximum filter ring size it can cope with is 72mm. I don't want to take the plunge and then find the 40-150 is over 72mm.

I can't believe how virtually every lens in the micro 4/3s range seems to have a different filter size! :-(

Somewhere I saw 72mm but don't quote me as I can't find it now. As usual we will have to wait for the announcement instead of relying on the ever-present rumours.

Somebody in Olympus management's uncle runs a filter factory so they need to give him work. ;-)

They ought to transfer the uncle to the lens fab plant... might get the 40-150 released a bit sooner!

If the dimensions we saw in the mock up lens are retained in the production design, then the filter thread will be 72mm.

On the other hand, if the production design ends up a bit different than the mock up, it might be another size.

Anyone have a crystal ball?

Thanks. I'll take a look at the Hitech system. I assume you are happy with the quality?

Those photos were the first images I shot with those filters. You tell me if they look good ;-)

We are discussing a lens that has not been released and for which there are not yet any reviews made public.

The Panasonic 35-100mm f2.8, 12-35mm f2.8, Olympus 75mm f1.8, 75-300mm and 40-150mm all use the same 58mm filter size so it's not all quite a mish-mash of sizes. Yes, the primes all have different sizes as Olympus' main goal for most of them is keeping the size down, not making the filter world easy for us.

I use a Lee Seven5 filter system and have both the 62mm ring for the 12-40mm f2.8 and the 58mm ring all the other above mentioned lenses. Lee also sells both 67mm and 72mm Seven5 rings, and I'm certain the 40-150mm f2.8 is going to require one of those sizes.
